Awards and Funding
2007-2008 Professional Development Funding
Awarded funding from a-n, The Artists’ Information Company through their Professional Development through Networking fund towards a series of mentoring sessions aimed at developing and defining my current practice.

2007 Northern Print Bursary
Awarded an 8 month Northern Print Bursary. Bursary included dedicated technical support and funding for membership, studio time, fees for courses and materials. I used the facilities to develop screenprint within my work and how print can be used on three-dimensional forms in relation to my collection of found and abandoned objects.

2006-2008 Grants for the Arts award
Awarded Grants for the Arts funding for developing skills needed for my practice and raising my profile as an artist. Funding will cover the design of a new website, printing of relevant promotional material and training relevant to my practice.

2006-2007 Artist’s Access to Art Colleges
Selected for the Artists Access to Art Colleges scheme, hosted by Newcastle University. Scheme entitled me to use university fine art and library facilities over a 7 month period. I used the opportunity to start researching ideas related to the use of the archive in contemporary art and its relation to my current practice.

2004 Grants for the Arts award
Five month research project supported by an Arts Council England Grants for the Arts award. I lived and worked in a children’s home in Peru, whilst using various drawing, collage and photography techniques to visually explore the local geographical area. This work was further developed on my return to Britain, culminating in a series of drawings and prints which used manmade structures as metaphors for states of being.
