I make work using objects with an unknown biography, such as old photographs, postcards, furniture and clothing which have been salvaged from flea markets. I use these objects as a basis for making artworks which investigate loss, absence, memory and loneliness. I’m interested in echoes and traces of unknown people, and how these items embody an emptiness, an absence which whilst attractive, is emotionally fraught.
